Meet Poppy; a Red Doberman Pinscher. This week Poppy was able to play with her tug! She loves playing with her giant tug (see cover page) because it activates her "prey drive", which is in all dogs. The prey drive is one of the two main drives in a dog. The two drives are: prey drive, defense drive. Both of these drives do different things to a dog, like with Poppy, when she is playing with her tug or a tennis ball, her prey drive is activated. That means that she won't stop until she gets the prey. It's very interesting and funny to watch, because after she has ''won'' and has the tug in her mouth, she runs back and fourth and shakes it to make sure it's "dead". Had lots of fun! :)
